Who We Are

Civil Rights Defenders is a non-governmental Human Rights organization registered in Sierra Leone with partnership with the Ministry of Employment Labour and Social Security under the ILO Tripartite Plus Arrangement. Its main sphere of work is focused on protection of human rights generally in the country. The organization has its head quarters in Freetown; with offices in all the regional headquarter towns. Civil Rights Defenders virtually work with field volunteers.

The status of the human rights situation can be described as unsatisfactory    and therefore requires our interventions in partnership with relevant institutions in every sector in Sierra Leone.

The Civil Rights Defenders is also looking for opportunities to solicit support from various sources to build its capacity; thus  sustaining its work in protecting and promoting human rights especially in rural communities of the country.
